How to be successful in CA practice?
During articleship training, A CA student quite often imagines how would it feel if he has his/her own practice after qualifying CA. It is surely one of the dreams which many of CA student have. As we all have our preferences for doing a job or have our own business, similarly it is purely a choice of starting a CA firm or joining a firm as a partner.
Like any business, it takes a lot of patience and dedication to set up your own practice. On average, it takes around 5 years to form a base in the industry. This can be accomplished in meeting the client’s business needs, expectations, quality deliverables and efficiency. We are sharing with you some broad tips for making your practice as a success:
1) More focus on building clients: For the initial few months or a year or so, you may have to work for minimal fees or no fees to build goodwill and winning more work. Its like building a foundation for your building. Stronger the base, longer the life of the business will be.
2) No compromise on quality: No client will continue if you fail to deliver as committed. Especially first few years are invested in building strong trust among the clients.
3) Maintain professionalism: One should not go over the top while building client relationships and be professional at all times.
4) Networking: CA needs to have a strong network for sharing of knowledge, updates and opportunities.
5) Keep learning and upgrading: Just clearing CA is not sufficient. You should also continue the learning from other sources to upskill and be updated in the market.
