How much does a CA earn in India?

With the rapid growth of the financial sector of our country, the demand for CA professionals has increased multifold. Even if a company or organization is running into losses, they need CA’s to take care of various functions of the company such as Cash management/Treasury, Accounts, Finance, Audit, Taxation, etc. Similar to other professions, a company always prefers an experienced person over a fresher. Therefore, a Freshly qualified CA would get lower bracket compensation as compared to the experienced one. Other factors like articleship training, marks in exams, and unfortunately, the number of attempts is also taken into consideration by employers. 

We hereby provide a rough estimate of the average amount, a CA earns. Please note that this article is only to give a rough idea and should not be referred to while negotiating with your next employer.

Starting a few years is more around building clients and networking. Hence, there may be income just to cover the costs or maybe negative income.

CA of experience of up to 5 years

Average CTC INR 10 to 17 lacs

Varies on the size of business and type of clients.

CAs having experience of more than 5 up to 10 years

Average CTC may range up to INR 20 to 25 lacs

Average income ranges from INR 40 lacs to 1 Cr

CAs with more than 10 years’ experience

Under this category, generally, senior positions are offered and it may vary from anywhere between 40 lacs to a higher amount depending upon the business size and profits
