SEBI Grade A Eligibility Criteria

An individual is eligible for registering for the examination if he/she has a Master’s degree in any discipline or Bachelor’s degree in law, Bachelor’s in engineering from a recognized university or CA/CFA/CS/Cost Accountant.

The maximum age limit is 30 years and whereas the minimum is 21. The candidate should be Indian or Nepal/Bhutan/Bangladesh with a valid certificate. There is no number of attempts in the SEBI Grade A officer post. They can try until qualifies the eligibility criteria.

Relaxations for SEBI Grade A Officer eligibility criteria

Relaxation of 10 years for PWBD candidates shall be applicable whether the post is reserved or not. Relaxation of 13 years for PWBD (OBC) candidates where vacancies are reserved for OBC candidates also a relaxation of 15 years for PWBD (SC/ST) candidates where vacancies are reserved for SC/ST candidates.

SEBI Grade A Exam pattern

SEBI Grade A selection the procedure is based on the 3 stage process-

The first phase- Online screening examination consisting of two papers of 100 marks each. The minimum cutoff for phase 1 is 30%.

The division of marks and subjects of the papers are as follows:

Paper 1- The subjects for this paper are general awareness, English language, quantitative aptitude, and test of reasoning.

Paper 2- The subjects for this paper re-commerce, accountancy, management, finance, costing, companies act and economics.

The second phase- Online examination consisting of 2 papers of 100 marks each and the minimum cutoff for this phase is 40%.

The division of marks and subjects of the papers are as follows:

Paper 1- The subjects involved in this paper are English to test drafting skills, general stream.

Paper 2- The subjects involve are commerce, accountancy, management, finance, costing, companies act and economics.

Third phase- Interview

Only those who are shortlisted will be called for an interview. The ones who are shortlisted may opt for an interview in Hindi or English. The weight-age of marks obtained in phase 2 will be 85% while marks obtained in the interview shall be given a weigh-age of 15%.

On fulfilling the criteria of the minimum cut off marks in each subject, the candidate will be shortlisted based on group performance as decided by SEBI.
